Technology
Visual Speedware includes two separate components: one integrated in Visual Basic (VB) and the other on your HP e3000, HP 9000 or Windows server to allow developers to easily and efficiently create powerful client-server applications.
Through a Visual Basic add-in, Visual Speedware attaches itself to Microsoft Visual Basic to deliver a more powerful development environment. Developers continue to use the familiar development environment of Visual Basic and the add-in features allow them to easily create client-server applications.
Visual Speedware uses the strength of Visual Basic combined with a slew of additional benefits:
- Robust multi-developer support, complete with check-in and check-out functionality.
- State-of-the-art powerful server-side script engine for HP e3000, HP 9000 and Windows servers.
- Efficient server-side native access to the most popular databases on HP e3000, HP 9000 and Windows.
- Automatic application deployment
- Built-in reporting tool.
Intuitive Application Design Wizards
With Visual Speedware, developers do not need to input VB code. Using a combination of wizards and automated routines, Visual Speedware generates all of the necessary VB code to set up the application environment, the client-server link between the VB client program, and its server counter-part.
Visual Speedware delivers the best of both worlds: a flexible development environment based on the most popular Windows language and a powerful server-side language offering optimized programming and the most efficient database access.

Developers use the VB-based IDE to develop their client/server applications and deploy them on the server. Users can run the server-side applications from their PC stations.
